We’re proud to announce the launch of our upgraded Open Tee Times 2.0 feature to our clients across the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and other international markets. The result is a modern, flexible and user-focused competition booking experience that delivers even greater value to clubs and golfers.

It’s been quite the process and one that has required significant time, resources, and most importantly, a constant dialogue with our customers. Here’s how we got there and a breakdown of what’s gone into delivering this big feature launch.

We break down software projects of this nature into development milestones

From the very first milestone released back in February 2024, our team has taken a structured and phased approach. Each milestone has allowed us to introduce new functionality, refine the user experience, and incorporate feedback at every step. Core functionality came first, followed by features such as Live Sync, enhanced booking flows, and more intuitive layouts. More recently, we’ve focused on seamless integration with Waitlists, Invitation Lists, and Pending Registrations — enhancements that make the experience faster and smarter for golfers, while removing administrative burdens for clubs.

Each milestone goes through this cycle before being released to a test group, where we gather further feedback and make refinements. It’s this iterative approach — build, test, learn, improve — that ensures Open Tee Times 2.0 truly delivers on its promise.

Bringing together the full matrix of development to produce a meaningful outcome

Delivering this has required a significant investment of time and expertise. In total, three developers have contributed more than 120 days’ worth of development across six milestones. Our development process is highly collaborative:

  • Designers map out how the new experience should look and feel.
  • Developers build and test the functionality, step by step.
  • QA teams rigorously test the features in real-world scenarios to catch issues before release.
  • Product managers work with customer feedback to prioritise what really matters.

What’s been consistent throughout is our commitment to feedback. Myself, QA, design teams, and frontline trainers have all played a role in shaping this feature, but the most important voice has been yours — the clubs and golfers who use Open Tee Times every day. Your input has directly informed interface changes, payment flow improvements, and the addition of new widgets and functionality.

With Open Tee Times 2.0, we’re proud to deliver a brand-new desktop and mobile interface, smoother registration journeys, and a booking experience that’s easier, faster, and smarter. But this is not the end of the journey — with each milestone, we’ll continue to listen, learn, and evolve the platform to meet your needs.

Innovation in golf software and technology is never “finished,” and Open Tee Times 2.0 is proof of our ongoing promise: to invest the time, energy, and resources needed to deliver real value to clients and golfers alike.
